Subject: Re: Flying: What's Considered a Weapon on Carry-On

Pens and pencils are fine. They aren't as picky as they were at first. I'd pack any scissors or even metal nail files in checked luggage just to be safe. I accidentally carried on my Swiss Army knife several times, as well as a screw driver. The screw driver was in a bag in my case with some electronics equipment. My little toiletries back was searched each time - the electronics bag was only searched once in about 20 trips, and my screwdriver confiscated. I was told I could check the tool - I said they could have it.
