|Subject: Re: Christmas in Venice... any ideas???|
If I were traveling to Venice on those days, I would check to see if any museums are open on Christmas Eve, as they will all surely be closed on Christmas Day. I would plan to visit a church on Christmas Day, and to have a special dinner which may have to be at one of the big hotels. Many restaurants might be closed.
May I suggest the buffet at the Hotel Metropole, on Riva Schiavoni, for a special holiday dinner? The atmosphere is intimate, fun, and yet elegant. The buffet leans heavily to seafood, but I would imagine that it might feature holiday specialties.
I would book everything, including dining, as soon as possible.
It sounds like a great trip. Have fun, Debbie in Pittsburgh
