I certainly agree that service is important and also sadly lacking in many of today's hotels and restaurants. On my list of importance--it's at the top and underlined. I admit to being a bit over the top in my insistence on the best of service. Perhaps thats because I own a restaurant and will tolerate nothing less. I find that many service people respond with excellent service when the guest presents themselves in a manner that is friendly, courteous and clearly expecting the best. Perhaps its that old adage--you get what you give.
