Subject: Restaurant in the Laurentians north of Montreal, Canada

If anyone is going skiing to the Tremblant area, you might consider the fine restaurant that my sisters and I visited on the weekend.

Helen (Travelziner from Ottawa) and our sisters had a wonderful meal at Le Cheval de Jade in the town of St-Jovite, just 15 minutes from the resort village of Tremblant. This small restaurant which is chef-owned offers fabulous food at a reasonable price. Table d'hote (fixed price menus) range from $25 - $40 (Canadian dollars!) for three great courses. The emphasis is on fish (Bouillabaisse is their specialty with fish flown in from France) but there were items for non-fish eaters too! The creamy smooth curried squash soup, the salmon gravlax, the incredible sole with truffled sauce...well, it was great! Service was friendly and polished. Book ahead - it only seats 36 people.
