|Subject: Re: 2-way radios|
Hello fellow fugitives,
That's right. I have used my American two-way radio while traveling in Europe (not the UK, however). We actually had good reception with them in Bruges and found them to be pretty useful. It never occured to me that they might be illegal. So, if any Ziners are traveling through Belgium in the near future I'm curious as to whether my face is on a wanted poster in the Belgian post offices.
Seriously, we've used the two-way radios with good results in the U.S., Canada, and South America. Unfortunately, they've become so common at ski areas that early versions, such as ours with fewer channels, have become almost obsolete due to the heavy traffic on those few channels. Although this also can result in some humorous conversations and interesting meetings.
