|Subject: Re: Tuscany villa|
This year we stayed in a wonderful place called La Capella at San Galgano approximately 30 km southwest of Siena. It was, however, more than large enough for 9 adults and the cost was about US$5,000 per week. If you want more information, I will get it from my friend who handled the booking for us. Let me know.
In our research, we also looked at http://www.theparkercompany.com http://www.initaly.com and http://www.tuscanway.com I have worked with the Parker Company in the past, and they are very helpful and accomodating both here and in Italy. Tuscan Way is a relatively small company, but the owner grew up in Italy near Monte Amiata and her family still lives there. My correspondence with them was very helpful, even though we did not rent through them. I have no personal knowledge of Initaly except of their web site.
It was wonderful to stay in a house again, as we did four years ago. We were there for two weeks both trips. The ability to have breakfast at your own pace in your own home and the flexibility of eating in at night after a long, tiring day is really a vacation. Besides, if you are wine drinkers, it is really nice to stop at the local Coop and pick out a couple of bottles of $4 to $10 wine to sample with your dinner! We went through quite a few, I must admit.
If you think there is anything else I might be able to answer, please let me know.
