Subject: Bearn and french Basque Country - Was: French strikes
Hi Evan, Thanks for the update. We were going to Jaca next weekend, and as we have taken Monday off, we were thinking of coming back along the northern side of the Pyrenees, but with the strike we werenīt sure.

The drive from Pau or Oloron to the spanish frontier in Hendaye is quite enjoyable. We usually drive down from Somport, and depending on our plans, we will turn to the west in Oloron or Pau. Most of the drive is done along back roads, across places like Sauveterre de Bearn or Navarrenx. We join the main road near Bayonne. From Saint- Jean de Luz we leave this main road heading into Spain, and we go along the coast until Hendaye Plage. Afterwards, itīs toll road straight to Bilbao.

If the weather is fine, we have a picnic either inland or by the coast.
