If you like cathedrals you might consider the southwest, where you can visit Wells, Winchester and Salisbury Cathedrals as well as the great abbey church at Tewkesbury. Lovely countryside, you should find some nice B& Bs, etc. Visit Glastonbury Tor as well. You could have a lovely, relaxed visit in that area.
