Cause I might forget it otherways when we're talking about special areas: One of the most impressing cathedrals is the Metropolitan Church (should look up the name again though - the catholic one) in Liverpool. It's from the 60's and looks a bit strange (or interesting) from the outside. But inside the cathedral, a round building, has one of the most wonderful light impressions I've ever seen.
But of course there are famous gothic cathedrals in Britain and also some normans (like Durham e.g.).
