Subject: RE: Wales and the Lake District |
Hi Elizabeth,
We spent 5 nights at Bryn Bella Guesthouse which is located just outside the town Betws-y-Coed. www.bryn-bella.co.uk/ Michael and Jenny are fabulous hosts. The cooked breakfast would have to be one of the best that we had while on our six week tour. The room was large and fabulously decorated, en-suite, with great views. We heartily recommend this establishment. In the Lake District we spent 4 nights at the Beechmount B& B which is located in the small town - 'Near Sawrey'. This town is very close to the picturesque town of Hawkshead. www.beechmountcountryhouse.co.uk/dining.htm Although Sylvia and Richard are vegetarians they serve excellent cooked breakfasts. Rachel and I stayed in the 'Red Room' which is large, en-suite, has wonderful views and has a double plus single bed. Again we recommend this establishment. I personally recommend Ken's Camera Shop in Armagh Street, near the corner of Colombo Street. I have shopped around Christchurch and found Ken's to have the most knowledgeable and helpful staff plus they have a good range of product. Although they are not the cheapest for processing films, we have found they do a consistently great job of developing films. I have just purchased the Nikon 5700 with 5 mega pixels and 8 times optical zoom. It is the closest I could get to a SLR without paying the big bucks, although, believe me when I tell you that it was still expensive. I am still playing around with the camera to get the settings right. Have a great holiday. Regards, Richard Bloomfield (Christchurch, New Zealand) |
