Subject: Digital Photo Organization |
Hi Lesley,
I've been using my digital camera for about 3 years now and, for the
most part, I really like it. The only thing I would change would be
to buy one with a higher resolution. The largest photo I can print
(sharply) is a 5x7. So, if you intend to print enlargements make sure
you buy a camera with a higher resolution.
As far as storage goes...I put all of my pictures in folders in my hard drive. I just label the folders by event as I would in a photo album. I then back up those photos on a CD...just in case! I also use a website called www.snapfish.com to further backup and order prints. It's free to create and account and it lets you upload photos into albums that you create. As of now there is no limit to the number of pictures you can store there. It also allows you to share photo albums with others by imputing their email address (nice because they can order prints on their own and you don't have to worry about making copies for people or sharing negatives.) This would be a good solution to empty memory cards while abroad. In my case, I could just bring my USB cable, connect it between the camera & computer and upload the pics to the snapfish site. I think there are other sites that do the same thing but I've used this one for about a year & a half and I've been very happy with their service. Hope this helps! Oh...thanks to those that gave Rose Parade suggestions! Jennie in Atlanta |
