I know you are looking for Egypt travel books but if you haven't discovered Elizabeth Peters as an author of Egyptian fiction, let me recommend her. Ms. Peters has a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Chicago so she knows what she writes about. She has a series of 15 Egyptian mystery books with an enlightened Victorian woman archaeologist as the heroine. The latest is The Golden One published in hardback in 2002. The others are out in paperback. They are such fun books to read & if you love Egypt, you'll probably enjoy Elizabeth Peters.
