Perhaps my answer arrives too late, but I just checked my inbox.

The closest station to Nice airport is Nice St. Augustin, a 15-minute walk from the terminals. Check the airport web site: http://www.nice.aeroport.fr then click accès et stationnement and choose trains, then Trains Regionaux. You'll get a map and will see how close the station is.

Good friends of mine use this connection all the time and I pick them up nearby at Les Arcs. Even thought the site says that it's a regional train, they arrive by TGV. Perhaps you can find more info on the French railway site: http://www.sncf.com
