Depending on where you are flying from, will impact on your airfare. We ran into the same dilemm a couple of years ago, with flights from Toronto to Paris. At this time of year...the cheapest fare I could find was around $900 (cdn) with a scheduled airline and about 775 with a charter. Needless to say...we waited, and the prices did drop to $560 with Air Canada, and $510 with the charters.
I would wait...probably till the end of February, by then..the war in Iraq will either be happening or fizzling out into a non-event (my guess is the former), and travellers will be leary...and airlines will drop fares.
Just a theory...
