|Subject: Re: Scotland guesthouses|
In July of 2000, we stayed in a B & B in Oban called Strathmaver, at the corner of Dunollie Road and Deanery Brae (I can't be completely sure of the spelling as I am reading someone else's writing, but it should be close). I can't recall the price, but we normally book in the £20 to £25 range, and we always have an ensuite. It was a pleasant walk down to the waterfront, a bit of a climb back up, and as I recall, there was plenty of parking. They let us leave the car there the next day while we took a day trip to Iona. The room was comfortable, and the only annoyance was those darned RAF jets flying over occasionally (I actually enjoy watching them during the day, but they are a bit noisy at night.) And this was the place where I was first heard Moira Kerr, a wonderful Scottish singer whose tapes were playing in the breakfast room.
