|Subject: Seeking info re Edinburgh|
My family and I are going to spend four or five days in Edinburgh in early May. We're going in part as a literary adventuRe: I'm a fan of Ian Rankin's Rebus mysteries and Shellie loves Dorothy Dunnett's Nicolo series (Nicolo, despite the name is from Edinburgh). I know of Rebus tours, but would anyone know of Nicolo tours? (I will definitely be taking at least one of the two Rebus tours that I know of; are there others?)
Besides these activities, would love to hear from you about other must-do activities in Edinburgh. I was there centuries ago, remember seeing the castle from down on Princes Street, and wandering in the old town. Anything we shouldn't miss? Anything special for toddlers?
Also, what kind of weather might we expect in early May?
(Also, we'll be spending a long weekend in Kent, England, in March, staying in a house in the countryside not far from Ashford, where the Eurostar stops. I know of a railroad museum (or yard) nearby where the Thomas the Tank Engine trains make an appearance from time to time (not this time, sadly for my 3 year old). Anything else of interest in that area? We will have a car.)
Thanks in advance for your help! Merci d'avance pour votre aide!
Bons voyages! Evan in Paris
