Hello Everyone, Re my adventures in South Africa and Zimbabwe-I've always had a lifelong craving call it wanderlust to travel. It's wonderful to experience different cultures and everything that goes with it. South Africa offers so much;from simple to the most sophisticated-the vibrancy and the beauty of its diverse landscapes, climate, its culture-I was captivated by the natural beauty and being in the bush. You feel a oneness with nature. To see the wildlife in their natural environment. I stayed at a number of lodges, one in particular that lies on the banks of the Sabie river within one of the oldest and largest proclaimed private reserves-the renowned Sabi Sand Wildtuin. This game reserve is an unspoilt part of Africa -what a total bushveld experience. I went on 2 safaris per day in open land rovers guided by experienced and knowledeable rangers & trackers. What superb views! It was such a thrill to see a herd of elelphants cross right in front of you, watching them ever so closely;seeing a pride of lions, a rhino with its baby, zebras alongside wildebeest, hearing and seeing the hippos, leopards; in short I don't think I missed one animal. I went to other camps as well. I thought Pretoria was beautiful; went to Cape Town--loved the drive to the vineyards outside of Cape Town. South Africa has fantastic wine. I would go again. Zimbabwe-Victoria Falls-seeing it was such a treat and going on the Zambezi river was another treat. It goes on and on. I really couldn't get enough of it. Regards, Patricia (Montreal, Canada) |
