I had hesitated to comment about Montreal hotels but seeing Patricia Shatz' posting brought back two wonderful trips we had in 1983 and 1986 respectively. One was at a bed and breakfast in Westmont with a young woman whose husband had tragically entered a vegetative state; the second was at the absolutely wonderful (and wonderfully located) Chateau Versailles. We don't want to pay for very expensive hotels, but the beauty of the rooms was so compelling. I can only think of a few (the Paradiso in Naples for one) that matched it. Of course, 17 years could have taken its toll; I am glad that it didn't.
