|Subject: Paris in April--not the usual sights|
After a week in Spain this April, I will spend a week in Paris. I have been there several times, so I think I've covered many of the major sights. I probably won't shop this year as the Euro has done amazing things to the price of anything I would want--I discovered this last May. I do plan to finally sit at a sidewalk cafe and watch the parade. I'll revisit Place des Vosges and the incredible patisserie nearby. And I'll spend some time at Place St. Sulpice which makes me feel as though I'm in a French movie. I'll stroll the Marais again, as I love the area and always stay there. I may also walk around Montmartre area again, although I don't know what to actually do there. I'm going to check out Bon Marche, but keep my credit card in my money pouch under my sweater. I'm going to find Pont des Arts and the little market I read about at Pont Neuf. I'm going to avoid the whole Les Halles area. I'm going to L'Orangerie which has reopened. I would love your suggestions as to good cafes for people watching, a good place for hot chocolate, and your suggestions of what else to do that the usual tourist misses. I have not been to all the museums, so if there is a less famous one you like other than the wonderful Musee Marmottan--I would love to know. I will be totally on my own during the days.
You guys are great, thank you! Cathia in Austin, Texas
