Subject: Provence... Lodging and home base suggestion
Hi Ziners...

I have been meaning to share a lodging and home base resource which we very much enjoyed when we visited the South of France in October of 2002. My memory was triggered when Pam asked for information for the South of France. The place I am recommending is best accessible by automobile and is a 2 star. The location...L'Isle Sur La Sorgue..., the accomodation... Hotel Les Nevons, and the hosts... Mireille and Jean-Philippe... were superior! We found it very accessible to the Marseilles airport... an hour or less... and convenient to unique hill towns, countryside, Roman ruins and local village markets. The location was in a comfortable town (near Cavaillon and many of the villages that Peter Mayle speaks of in his books ...A Year in Provence, etc... ). The town was neither too large nor too small. There were two markets each week... one of which was an antique market which drew visitors from all over. We were happy to have our home base with fenced parking and easily accessible to the all day markets by foot!
