Here are some DC travel sites I've found helpful:

http://www.dcpages.com/

http://www.wmata.com/default.cfm Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, for Metro buses and trains (subway), a wonderful, safe and inexpensive way to get around. If you plan to ride the subway more than 2 times in a day, consider the $5 day pass, a great deal. The day passes are only available from certain fare card machines; ask at the information booth in any Metro station if you're unsure how to purchase a pass.

http://makeashorterlink.com/?U2B924963 Washington Post Entertainment Guide - great for current events, concerts, museum and gallery info, etc.

http://www.smithsonian.org/ Museums of the Smitsonian Institution

Hope this helps, and have a great visit!
