My wife Jan and I are retirees who like to pack community service and travel into our lives.

In recent years we have been exploring remote parts of Australia - we have a 4x4 and off road camper trailer, and have been to some beaut spots.

We do want to travel around North America too. A six week trip in a rented RV from Vancouver, through the Rockies, up the Alaska Highway, to the Yukon and into Alaska a few years back remains the highlight of our overseas travel experiences.

I have signed on here to pick up ideas for our next trip. Our tentative thoughts are to rent / buy a small second hand RV and spend as much time as we can visiting National Parks, and stay for six months or so.

I look forward to seeing and joining in the discussion groups and the site info. It was recommended in the travel pages of our local newspaper.
