|Subject: Northern Chile|
Some time ago Marta in Washington State asked about Northern Chile.
Well, we were there in January though only for 2 days. We came by bus
from La Paz in Bolivia and drove through Lauca National Park and the
Atacama. The snowy volcanoes (over 6000 meters high) and lakes are very
beautiful. The desert looked quite boring from the bus window but yet
somehow interesting. We stayed in Arica on the coast. It is a nice small
town at the foot of the Morro (good view from there). From Arica tours
are made to Lauca National Park and some other places.
