In June we will be in Seattle overnight from about 1pm on Friday until
embarkation 3pm next day on a cruise ship up the Alaskan coast.
I have a few questions that I#m hoping someone will be able to help
We thought we would stay in the Silver Cloud Inn Lake Union, in Seattle.
The price is about right and it sounds quite nice. Can anyone recommend
it? Or does anyone have another favourite hotel in downtown Seattle?
We will be in Seattle again for about another 24 hours from the
following Saturday morning. What would be the #must do#s# we could fit
in, in those two short timeframes?
Our cruise calls in at Victoria from 3pm until 10pm on the Friday.
Butchart Gardens is a must. The cruiseline offers that as an excursion,
but would it be easy to go there independently? I see it is out of the
city so how would we best get there and any idea of the cost of
transport? (Then I can compare it with what the cruiseline is wanting to
And Jim, can you give us any more info about the walking tour with the
British bobby # he sounds like fun. How much time should I allow for
that, and how much for the Butchart gardens? How long is a piece of
string I hear you say # but I guess I am asking whether we would have
time to do both.
We leave on our 10 week trip of a lifetime in a few weeks and I#d just
like to say how much I have enjoyed reading all of your messages #
amusing, informative, so friendly and helpful. I hope when we get back I
have lots to contribute.
Thanks to you all
