I agree with John that you should visit the Locks, aka: the Ballard Locks. I actually work across the street from them and it's nice to walk over during my lunch break and see the big fishing and crabbing boats come back from Alaska. Also I second the recommendation for Ray's Boathouse - it's a bit spendy for dinner, however well worth it, but their lunches are quite reasonable. And for all you Seattlites out there, fyi: you get a free birthday lunch at Rays 'on' your birthday - any entree off the menu. I never miss it and usually get the king salmon! :-)
