Subject: Austria
Hello Barbara,

The Austrian country is really awesome.

There is a small town on the Danube called Durnstein. There is a castle you can stay at called Schloss Durnstein(the original castle is on the hill).

On the way to Salzburg is Eisriesenwelt Hohle or ice cave near Werfen-it's worth a visit.

Austria has enchanting little villages with these wonderful lakes i.e. Hallstatt, St. Wolfgang, Zel am See, Gmunden. Graz is supposed to be lovely. There is Heiligenblut in the austrian alps, the village is near Lienz(not linz) on the south side of the Grossglockner peak. There is a scenic road that traverses the mountains between Heiligenblut & Salzburg. You can stay at Landhaus Christoph for a low price.

Vienna is monumental for its imperial traces-- Schoenbrunn Schloss, Stephansdom etc. The Viennese forest is lovely. As far as restaurants try the Sacher Konditorei where they make the original chocolate Sacher torte. For wienerschnitzel a characteristic area where I went to is the one outside Vienna which is in Grinzing.

Salzburg: the older part of town is where the most important things are.

I have friends there who live in Vienna so if you need more info don't hesitate
