I know what you mean about the fleece: for cooler weather you can't get along nearly as well with any other clothing, but it's so bulky! I often resemble the Michelin Tire guy when I board a flight for Scotland in winter, since it's easier to wear all my fleece layers than to try to squeeze them into my teeny little backpack. Ditto the hiking boots. I'm sure my fellow air passengers cringe as I clomp down the aisle to the dunney in midflight. And coming back, when all that wonderful fleece is still just a wee bit damp I notice my row-mates sometimes ask to be reseated. Ah, the subtle aroma of peat fires & wet sheep!
