|Subject: towns between Rome and Florence|
Another question for the Italy experts:
My husband and I are going to be in Italy in May. We've rented an apartment in Rome and are leaving that on a Sunday, and will check into a hotel in Florence the next Thursday, and we're leaving the intervening days open to explore the area between Rome and Florence by train or bus (no car). What train- or bus-accessible towns between here and there should we be sure to hit? We'll have about a week after Florence, but are planning to spend it mostly in the Emilia-Romagna area, unless we fall in love with the towns between Rome and Florence. Lucca I hear is wonderful, but might be best scheduled between Florence and the Emilia-R. area. Likewise, Fiesole is on the list, but might it be easier to get there on the bus from Florence?
