Hi Sylvie,

I have to envy you preparing for a visit in Paris. I can 't help with the tour info, but IMHO to do both Vaux-le-Vicomte and Fontainebleau in one day will be far too rushed. If you will want to enjoy the gardens and the entire place, Vaux-le-Vicomte (including travel time) is easily a day's entertainment. There is a place there to eat, simple but OK for lunch. It is such a wonderful experience. I especially fell in love with the kitchen.

We drove on to Fontainebleau the same evening and stayed at a hotel about a block away, but the palace is so enormous, I opted to wait for a later trip to tour it, because I felt it would take at least the better part of a day to even scratch the surface, and we had reservations in the Vezelay area.

You will love Vaux-le-Vicomte.Wish I could be more help.

Bon journee, Lou Matthews (Lakeway, TX)
