Hi Mark,
During our visit to Buenos Aires in Nov. 2001 we felt quite safe and didn't encounter nor hear of any criminal activities such as those mentioned in the U.S. State Department warning. In fact, the news media was saturated with coverage of the anthrax mailings which were ongoing in the U.S. at that time. It seems to me that the U.S. State Department's warning of armed invasion of restaurants, shops, and residences. . . is not entirely different from the crime report published in a daily periodical in any major U.S. city. Does the U.S. State Department issue warnings for travel within the U.S.? John listening to the police helicopters searching for yet another bank robber in San Diego |
