|Subject: SE Utah suggestions|
I've twice travelled to SE Utah for some back country trips; San
Rafael Swell, Canyonlands, Escalante NM etc. Having seen some great
scenery, I feel there is so much more to investigate.
I've just finished Edward Abbey's Monkey Wrench Gang a book that describes some escapades in that area around 1973 or so and I'd love to follow some of the routes described in the novel.
Has anybody any experience of the Maze district of Canyonlands NP or the Henry Mountains. I'd also like to visit the South side of Lake Powell, but this is never described in any guide books.
As I live in the UK, it's difficult to find any good guide books to the area, all that I have I've bought in Utah.
Any advice about roads, conditions, sights etc. are much appreciated.
