When in London, I always stay at a bed and breakfast in Bloomsbury.
Usually I check out the web, send an e-mail and have a chat with the
owners to ensure that this is the place I want to stay. Haven't gone
wrong yet. When last there, two years ago, I paid 80 pounds for a
double. Singles were 49 pounds. It's fun to have breakfast with the
other tourists in these places because they are usually Europeans who
know how to travel economically or young North Americans seeing the
The area I stay in Bloomsbury is on Gower Street, one block from Tottenham Court Road, where there are many such accomodations and convenient to the Underground (Goodge Street Station) and very convenient to walk to the theatre district, the British Museum, the National Gallery, and Charlotte Street with its many fine restaurants, etc.
