|Subject: Taxi cost|
Hi Ziners, This is my first post here!
I'm putting together an itinerary for a trip to Italy in early September (no cancelling here!). Thus far, we've reserved 2 nights at Grand Hotel dei Castelli in Sestri Levante (Liguria), 2 nights at La Luna e i FalÚ in Canelli, Piemonte http://makeashorterlink.com/?X54A243F3 and then back down to Liguria for 3 nites at Villa Gnocchi in S. Margherita Ligure. We'll be renting a car for our travels.
For our final night, we'll be driving back up to Milan, or Malpensa to be exact, to stay at the First Hotel, near Malpensa. I'm thinking about going out to dinner this last evening, and am looking for something quite spectacular, a la Enoteca Pinchiorri in Firenze (yum!). A couple of restaurants that look intriguing, and within a reasonable distance, are: Osteria Antica del Ponte http://makeashorterlink.com/?M22A523F3 Il Sole di Ranco http://makeashorterlink.com/?U23A123F3
My question to you all (finally!) is, does it make sense for us to check into our hotel, drop off our rental car, and rely on taxis to take us to the restaurant and return later? How exorbitant would the cost be? I'd like the last evening to be somewhat stress-free, and if we do decide to travel some distance to a fine restaurant, I'd rather not worry about driving back, given the presumably fine wines of which we'd be partaking!
Also, if anyone has any personal experience with the two restaurants I mention above, please let me know.
