Subject: Public transport in Naples and museum card |
Hi Ziners,
We had a great GTG in Toronto today. A couple of us have visited the Naples, Italy area recently and others are planning to do so. So for Etta and anyone else planning a trip there, here are some links for schedules etc. about the Naples area. There are two good museum and transit passes for the area - one for Naples only and one for the Campania region including Pompeii and Herculaneum. You can get a pass that includes transportation or without. For 25 euros, you can have unlimited transportation for three days including the Circumvesuviana. Cumana, Metro, regular buses in Naples, shuttle buses to the Vesuvius and Paestum area and a ferry trip, free admission to the first two museums or archeological sites and 50% discount on others. For information about the Campania and the Napoli Artecards, see http://www.artecard.it/ Choose English on the left menu if you don't read Italian. One free journey on Metro Del Mare is included (in season): http://www.metrodelmare.com/inglese/home.html For the local trains to Pompeii and Herculaneum (runs between Naples and Sorrento) http://www.vesuviana.it/listaorari.htm General transport website for the area, including ferries to the islands: http://www.campaniatrasporti.it/ SITA runs buses between Sorrento and Amalfi http://www.sita-on-line.it/SITO%20CAMPANIA/HomeCampania.html Line 14, a PDF file. These sites offer the schedule too - aren't official but easier to use. http://www.ondaverde.it/sitai.htm http://www.sorrentoradio.com/prova/autobus.htm Frances Toronto, Canada |
