Hello Kien Sing

In Honolulu, may I suggest the New Otani which is located on its own beach about a 20 minute straight walk to Waikiki. It is just toward Diamond Head in a quieter area across from Kapiolani Park. You can spend time easily in Waikiki but avoid the congestion.

Some rooms are smallish but nice with balcony, especially if you can afford a view room. The lobby opens up to a lovely restaurant under trees looking out at the beach, great place for breakfast. In the evenings it is lovely to have a drink at the bar and watch the lights and skyline of Waikiki turn on. You might be able to find it on one of the discount webs or expedia, etc.

In Volcano defintiely skip Volcano House...you can stop in and look at it but there are so many nice B& B's in the area.

Also if you have time to drive the Puna coast and see where the lava has been (outside the park) and/or be sure to go down Chain of Crater's Road in the Park in the evening with flashlight to view the lava entering the sea.

Hope there is a good flow facing the area where everyone congregates to watch!

Aloha and have a great time Maddy Northampton, MASS
