Ann:
I was in Amsterdam in April 2002. You will love it!
I agree with the other Ziners' suggestions.
This is different. The afternoon we had planned to go the Maritime Museum
we found it was unexpectedly closed. We went to Museum Amstelkring Ons'
Lieve Heer op Solder called in English Our Lord in the Attic.

It dates to the 17th century. The attic had been converted to a Catholic
church after the Reformation. The Dutch did not persecute the Catholics, but
no Catholic church should be visible from the street. This is the only
remaining church in the attic. We found it very interesting. The attic is
in the merchant's canal house, renovated 1661-1663 and also interesting. I
haven't found anyone else who has been to this museum.
We went there after lunch and then went to the Anne Frank House.
By arriving late, we were told we could miss the crowds at the Anne Frank
House and found it to be true.
