Subject: Re: carrying money & passports |
Hi Jennie,
I'm not sure that what we do is the safest, but we tried money pouches worn
around our necks and didn't think they were inconspicious at all, so what we
do is carry a minimum of money, divided between my husband and myself. I
carry my purse across my body, and my husband carries his wallet in his
front pocket. We get cash -- usually about 100 to 150 Euros a day from an
ATM machine -- as we need it, so there's not that much to lose at one time.
ATM machines are all over in Brussels and Paris. We do carry our passports
with us, as we don't feel safe leaving them in the small room safe in the
hotel room. We also carry copies of our passports separately, in case
they're stolen, and we have to replace them.
