Yes Sandy, they do speak English, and they are terribly polite and helpful
always finding some kind of discount like if you are two persons
(découverte à deux), senior, .... days of the week, ....etc.

I will definitely book with SNCF on the phone next time :-) I remember once telephoning SNCF, and I got a recorded message in French, which I couldn't follow. I'm so glad to know the agents speak English and are helpful. My French is limited... I make restaurant reservations, but I write everything down in French and English, so I know what I want to say. Thanks again!
