I was hoping it wouldn't happen to us, but it did. Just rec'd notice today that our carefully arranged and scheduled evening flight to Prague on Monday, May 19, connecting through Amsterdam, has been cancelled, and we've been rebooked on a flight that leaves at noon. Not only that, but they have us connecting through DETROIT! We had a direct flight from Washington Dulles, about 15 minutes from our home.
I have been on the phone for hours today, asking for a better alternative. We need to work on Monday the 19th, which is why we purchased an evening flight. And of course we don't want to back track hours to Detroit!!! We can receive a total refund, but here we are less than two weeks from the outbound flight, and purchasing another will cost hundreds of dollars more.
Any brilliant ideas? What I WANT is for them to book me on an acceptable flight, which will probably be on another airline, at no further cost.
Thanks- anne in Virginia
