|Subject: Grand Canyon visit|
Hello fellow Ziners around the globe!
Recently my husband, James, and I took a little driving trip that included the Grand Canyon. We stayed at the Cameron Trading Post. What a great experience. We booked our room through a site recommended here on the zine.
We got a great rate and the room was just as requested. We highly recommend the experience of Cameron and the drive to the Canyon is very easy as approach is from the east. The traffic is minimal and the sights are amazing. We had approached from the south in the past and must say the eastern approach is much more scenic. We also recommend a side trip to Page, Arizona, home of Antelope Canyon, among other things. Page is approx. an hour north of Cameron across the Glenn Canyon Dam over the Little Colorado River. The scenery is astonishing.
On our way home to Tucson, we stopped overnight in Sedona, Arizona, as we were scheduled to take the Verdi Canyon Railway. All I can say about that is - DON'T DO IT!!! It is expensive, long, and not time well spent. Perhaps others have had a better experience than we, but our fellow train passengers agreed with us, for the most part.
Thanks, Sara Wetegrove Tucson, Arizona
