They are wonderful, if you can stand the feeling of something sort of slithery around your neck. We call them 'snakes' & use them extensively when my racewalking team participates in hot-weather races. They work much better in arid conditions than muggy. One of our teammates made us a dozen of them, of course, matching our team colors! We soak them up till they're fat & plump, then store them on ice in a cooler. As a racer takes off for her leg, she grabs a cold one & slaps it around her neck. On really hot days, we roar by her, collect her now-warm snake & get her a fresh one right off the ice.
