|Subject: Re: Paris & Provence|
We were in Provence and Paris last November. We had finished a business trip in Monte Carlo, and went on to St. Paul de Vence for two days of relaxation (and rain). We then continued to Avignon, where we stayed for four nights at L'Europe Hotel. On our way we spent the afternoon in Aix - definitely not enough time. We took one day to explore St. Remy and Arless, and then spent two days exploring Avignon (could have used another day). We turned in our car after Arles, as you certainly don't need it while in Avignon. (Finding the car rental return in the dark at the TGV Station was a bit of a challenge.) We enjoyed driving because we like the flexibility, and we had no difficulty. We then took the TGV to Paris for four wonderful days.
As others have suggested, having enough time is the problem. Because we spent time in Avignon, we would stay in Arles or Aix on our next trip. We really did enjoy our quick taste of Provence, and look forward to visiting again.
