as an Italian, I'd appreciate anything, even the smallest thing, which can't be found here. Hard task, because of global markets, but not impossible. While I have a crush for American-style cakes and cookies (as many Ziners know), I love to receive American books written by less known authors. Another suggestion could be some houseware item which is very American. Italians are usually picky about coffee, so I'd skip that one; you can even buy yourself a can of Illy coffee to take home! Have a nice trip, hoping the temperatures drop, otherwise even the stones will melt.
