Hi, Mike and Fran,
You'll be driving right through where my son and I spent a very happy 10 days two summers ago. I'd break the drive up so you can see things along the way - and enjoy it.
In Invergarry - on a small Loch between Loch Lochy and Loch Ness - is the Glengarry Castle Hotel. It's a beautiful spot, and well situated in the middle of the Great Glen. There you would be poised to take the road to Skye that crossed the bridge, OR, even more beautiful, take the beatiful road to Glenelg, see the amazing brochs there, and take the tiny ferry over.
I wouldn't miss a chance to drive (or hike) through Glen Coe if you head up that direction.
On Skye, don't miss the Trotternish Peninsula - we walked the Quiraing and will never forget it.
I hope this helps, Susan in Maryland
