Subject: Re: Compact Cameras
Sandra, You might want to look at the Canon Powershot S400. I just got one (had the S100 model before). It is very compact. Its lens is comparable to a 35 mm film camera lens of 36-108 mm. This should allow you to take close-up as well as distance pictures. With a compact flashcard of 256 MB, you could expect to shoot about 450 pictures at a reasonable resolution. If the S400 is as reliable as the S100 I had for 3 years, it should give you no trouble. One of the best things about the compact size of this camera is that you can put it into a pocket and avoid looking like a tourist.

There are a number of other cameras around which are less pricey and you will want to look at them as well. Good hunting. Howard in Vancouver
