Subject: Washington DC Hotel
Hi Ziners- We've lived in the DC area for 27 years, and last night, for the first time, we spent a night downtown and enjoyed the hotel so much that we want to recommend it to Ziners coming this way. Today's our 30th wedding anniversary (Wow!), and even though we had a wonderful trip to Prague last month to celebrate, we wanted to mark the day in a special way, so after a fun family Father's Day dinner on the deck yesterday, we drove into town. We had found a terrific $79 rate on the internet for the St. Gregory Hotel and Suites, ideally located in walking distance to many interesting restaurants, museums, embassies, shops, and sites such as Dupont Circle. The St Gregory has chic and comfortable common areas with a sense of fun - when you walk in the door, Marilyn Monroe, white skirt flying up, greets you - a life-sized statue. We were upgraded to a suite, which had every possible amenity & a supremely comfortable king-sized bed. We recommend this place highly - for location (we enjoyed walking to dinner - choosing from the many excellent restaurants in the Dupont Circle area, and breakfast at the Firehook Bakery), service, amenities, and atmosphere. Happy travels- Anne in VA
