Subject: July 4th in Philly/New Constitution Center
Hello all,

Those of you in proximity to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area may want to consider including a trip to Philly in your July 4th weekend plans. Tomorrow the new National Constitution Center (NCC) museum and memorial opens its doors to the public for the first time. I had a chance to take a pre-opening tour yesterday, and it looks like it will be a worthwhile tourist attraction. The price is reasonable, too: $6 for adults. For info see There are a lot of other things going on in Philly for Independence Day weekend, including many free events open to the public as part of the "Welcome America" annual celebration. See Funny anecdote: A few days ago I was in line at the Post Office near the historic district, and Ben Franklin was in line in front of me! Actually, it was the local well-known actor that portrays Franklin and roams the historic district giving impromptu history lessons to kids and families. I thought it funny that the USA's first postmaster general had to stand in line like the rest of us :-).

Have a good Fourth of July holiday weekend! Brian Wasson Philadelphia, Pa./USA
