Thanks for the great restaurant recommendations! We ended up in
downtown (historic) Round Rock at the Louisiana Longhorn Cafe. We're
originally from Louisiana so rarely pass up a chance at "hometown"
food. The gumbo and po-boys were great and we had a wonderful,
homemade strawberry pie for dessert. Service was a little slow, so
keep that in mind if visiting there.
By the way, we did go see the bats. It must have been an off night for them though because the show was less than spectacular...not a big cloud of bats like we expected - just a slow trickle! Oh well!
I'll definately use the recommendation for Hudson's on the Bend next time we're in town. Some exotic cuisine would be a fun change.
Thanks again, Jennie in Atlanta
