Ziners, Better late than never. Sorry it took this long to post but life events took over when we came back home and we are just now catching up with our emails and travelogue.

Great 'ziners out in LA. We met our first night out (friday) at the LACMA and the museum was a perfect choice. Jazz music playing, great warm weather and once again we prove to be an exceptional group of people. Ziners everywhere seem to be warm and friendly and by evening's end we had bonded in friendship. We've decided we need some kind of Ziner marker for the table so that we dont have to tell the restaurant staff: "excuse me, I'm meeting 10 strangers for drinks & dinner" We tend to get curious looks from waiters. By evening's end, my jet lag caught up with me otherwise, we would all have been there for many, many hours. You may view the happy event at:

On Saturday, The Getty museum was a treat. One day was barely enough for us to see all we wanted and the view!!!! Lidia and Richard were kind enough to have us join them for Brunch on Sunday at a great place whose name escapes me at the moment. It had an indoor lake with swans and even a wedding in progess.

The hotel in LA- Le Montrose in west hollywood is a gem. small suite at hotel prices. Sunken living room, fireplace full kitchen. Beautifully decorated. Wonderful and helpful staff too. http://www.lemontrose.com

>From LA to Santa Barbara on Memorial Day for fun events at the pier. Great tacos and fun in the sun (it was cloudy though). To San Simeon and the BW Cavalier Oceanfront was a great suggestion I picked up from the archives. On the ocean, a short drive to Hearst Castle and Paso Robles wine country. beautiful sunsets and a fireplace to warm us in the early evenings. Ah! memories of watching the fire and the sun setting while sampling a local wine!

Two weeks touring the Napa-Sonoma area with many wonderful stops along the way to watch the elephant sea lions along Pacific Coast hwy, Monterey Bay, Bodega Bay cooking lessons at Ramekins in Sonoma were all a great experience. As were all the tours and picnics at the various wineries.

Onwards to Yosemite Natl park where we had a small bear encounter. Saw doe & bucks with fuzz still on the antlers. And due to weather conditions (snow then record heat) a wonderful array of waterfalls. George took some great shots with both the SLR and digital cameras. What a wonderfull place, peaceful and vast.

Trip's end in San Francisco, where we have left our hearts before. Did all the required things. Alcatraz, Fisherman's wharf, trolley and went to see the longest running play "Beach Blanket Babylon". What a riot! Its a do not miss show! So is the Ansel Adams museum.

I will send hotel recommendations under separate cover for the database. Sorry I rambled on so. This was probably longer than it should have been.
