Subject: Re: Scotland
Hi, Joe, My vote would be for rail. We've been to Scotland three times and never rented a car. Our thinking has always been: why be distracted from all the beautiful scenery by having to put in extra concentration on driving where your instincts are all wrong? Plus we love trains! The West Highland Line is spectacular. You can go from Glasgow to Oban, then take ferries to Mull and Iona. Then from Oban go through Ft. William to Mallaig --one of the world's great train rides: wildly beautiful scenery, lochs, mountains, the Glenfinnian viaduct. There's also good train connections between Edinburgh or Glasgow and Inverness where you can take the train to the Isle of Skye. Angie -in KS wishing I was getting on a train in Scotland
